From Valencia.

Take A7 motorway towards Alicante until exit 60, Gandia.  On exiting, take N332 towards Alicante.  This road skirts Gandia  and avoids the town. After a couple of tunnels fork right onto CV60 towards Albaida. At aprox. 19 kilometers take right hand exit onto CV691 (lists 4 villages - Terrateig, Montixelvo, Ayelo de Rugat & Rugat). Passing through Montixelvo, Rugat is the 2nd. village on the left.  La Casa Vieja is signposted in the village and is situated behind the church. 

From Alicante

Take A7 motorway  towards Valencia until exit 61, Oliva.  On exiting take N332 towards Valencia.  Continue on this road past the exit to Gandia (large roundabout).  After about 500 yards take right hand slip road to CV60 towards Albaida. At aprox. 19 kilometers take right hand exit onto CV691 (lists 4 villages Terrateig, Montixelvo, Ayelo de Rugat & Rugat). Passing through Montixelvo, Rugat is the 2nd. village on the left.
